Nominations Open for Georgia Tech Staff Awards
Staff Awards are a great way to recognize employees’ achievements and to let them know that their work is important, valued, appreciated, and makes a difference within the Georgia Tech community and beyond.
This year, the awards and eligibility criteria have been refined to better reflect the Institute’s values and strategic priorities. These changes represent a purposeful evolution from previous award cycles and are designed to ensure meaningful and values-aligned recognition. Here’s what to know:
What’s New?
- The program has reduced the number of awards from 13 to five options:
- Putting Students First
- Leadership in Action
- Service to the Community
- Spirit of Georgia Tech
- One Giant Leap
- Award recognitions and nominations will only be for individuals, not full teams.
- Self-nominations are no longer permitted, reinforcing the importance of peer and leader recognition.
- Nominees must have received an overall “strong performance (4)” or “exceeds expectations (5)” rating on their most recent performance evaluation.
What’s Not Changing?
- Staff Awards are still one of the most visible and meaningful ways to recognize exceptional contributions at Georgia Tech.
- The newly updated awards still include financial incentives.
- Colleagues to be considered for nomination:
- consistently perform at a high level.
- demonstrate leadership, innovation, or service.
- make a measurable impact on students, colleagues, or the broader community.
- embody Georgia Tech’s values through their actions.
Eligibility
Nominees must be Georgia Tech staff members or academic professionals serving in an academic support role and have completed at least one year of full-time service at the Institute. To ensure broad recognition across the Institute, recipients of staff awards from the past two years are not eligible.
If you know a top performing staff employee or staff leader who embodies the values of the Institute, be sure to nominate them for a 2026 Staff Award by Friday, Feb. 27 at 11:59 p.m. To nominate, complete the corresponding online form and submit two letters of support from others besides the nominator.
