As September continues and October is on the horizon, it’s a great time for the Georgia Tech community to recognize and celebrate the contributions of various professionals who make our campus community thrive with their respective recognition days.

September

  1. Research Administrator Day (September 25)
  2. National Food Service Employee Day (September 25)
  3. Human Resources Professional Day (September 26)

October

  1. Careers in Student Affairs Month (October)
  2. National Custodial Worker Appreciation Day (October 2)
  3. National Customer Service Week (October 7-11)
  4. Health Education Week (October 14-18)
  5. National Boss’s Day (October 16)
  6. National Medical Assistants Day (October 18)

Ideas to celebrate: Acknowledge the hard work of our campus professionals by sharing stories of their contributions on social media or seeking them out to say, “thank you.” Highlight their essential roles in your department newsletter, or write them a personal thank you for the work they do. Consider using Microsoft Teams Praise, submitting a Show Your L.O.V.E. nomination, planning an appreciation event, or organizing a thank-you banner in their workspace.

By engaging with these appreciation days, we foster a culture of recognition and gratitude at Georgia Tech. For more details on additional ways to recognize employees, visit engagement.hr.gatech.edu/culture-of-recognition/.
