Building a strong Tech community begins during the interview process when people leaders select exceptional candidates who will help drive our collective success.

Supervisors and the Human Resources (HR) community will soon receive increased support with procedures and processes for hiring staff. A comprehensive suite of resources and learning opportunities to support the interview process will become available on July 1. All people leaders and HR staff are expected to engage in this training to achieve our strategic objectives and enhance our hiring practices.

This content was created in alignment with Institute goals and updated University System of Georgia policies regarding recruitment and employment criteria. The new resources will help improve the interviewing experience for both managers and candidates.

“We are reinforcing our commitment to removing barriers and building an inclusive community where people of all backgrounds can learn and contribute to our mission,” said Thomas Hercule, director of Talent Acquisition.

What to Expect:

  1. Standard Operating Procedures: Updating standardized operating procedures to ensure consistency, fairness, and efficiency in every interview.
  2. Detailed Roles and Responsibilities: Providing comprehensive documentation of roles and responsibilities for all participants involved in the staff interview and hiring process.
  3. Online Training: Introducing online learning modules to guide hiring managers through the updated staff interview and hiring process.

Impact on Our Community:

These improvements will provide consistency and clarity for hiring managers, ensuring they have the necessary resources. Additionally, they will enhance the overall experience for candidates, promoting a more equitable and efficient hiring process.

Thank you in advance for your time and effort in support of this important strategic initiative to enhance our interview and hiring practices.
