Donate to Shared Leave Pool During Open Enrollment
Open Enrollment season is almost here, and while you’re making choices about your benefits, you may also be able to help your fellow employees.
Georgia Tech’s Shared Sick Leave program allows eligible employees who have exhausted their paid leave to pull from the shared pool to use additional paid time to recover from a serious health condition or to care for an ailing immediate family member.
Donations to Georgia Tech’s Shared Sick Leave program can only be made during open enrollment season, Oct. 27 – Nov. 7. To donate to the sick leave pool, you must be a regular, benefits-eligible employee who has completed the Board of Regents provisional period.
Employees are eligible to request time from the pool, only if:
- they have donated at least eight hours of sick leave to the shared leave pool.
- they have a minimum of 40 hours of accrued sick leave hours remaining after the donation.
