Benefits and Wellness Fair Gives a Sneak Peek into Open Enrollment Season

Georgia Tech employees can get ahead of the open enrollment season this fall with the Benefits and Wellness Fair on Monday, Sept. 29.

The fair provides a wealth of information and guidance about health, retirement, and other benefits offered to full-time employees of the University System of Georgia (USG). The 2025 open enrollment period, when all eligible employees must select or make changes to their benefits, is Oct. 27 – Nov. 7.

The Benefits and Wellness Fair gives employees the opportunity to speak with USG and Georgia Tech vendors to get a better understanding of health plans, retirement savings, the Employee Assistance Program, and campus resources. A variety of well-being workshops will also be available.

“Sometimes it’s difficult to know how one health plan differs from another – the topic can be complex, and there’s a lot of information to sift through,” said Yolanda McDaniel, benefits manager for Georgia Tech Human Resources. “This fair is meant to take the stress out of the open enrollment season, give you an opportunity to speak with vendors one-on-one, and introduce you to on-campus resources you may not have known existed.”

For convenience and to better protect Georgia Tech’s campus during sick seasons, the fair will also offer walk-in flu shots, as well as biometric screening. For a step-by-step registration guide for biometric screening, click here. For flu shots, payment depends on your active health plan. Kaiser Permanente users will pay $32, while other insurance holders typically do not pay out of pocket.

The fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Exhibition Hall, Midtown Ballroom.
