ASPIRE Accepting Applications for 2025 Aspiring Leaders Cohort

ASPIRE, one of Georgia Tech’s premiere leadership development programs, is accepting applications for its 2025 cohort. 

The ASPIRE program is a learning experience for Tech employees who do not currently have direct reports. The four-month blended learning experience begins in August and aims to develop individual contributors as they consider growing their career toward people leadership. Participants learn with supportive peers and are guided by experienced facilitators, and given the space to stretch, reflect, and go forward with confidence into whatever is next for them in their career. 

“Over the past five ASPIRE programs, I’ve witnessed participants come into the program who were unsure if a people leadership position was right for them, and by the end of the program they leave with a clearer sense of purpose, increased confidence, and a stronger voice,” said Rachel Watts, ASPIRE Program Manager. “Many participants realize their strengths, build better relationships with peers and supervisors and can plan ways to immediately put into practice the tools ASPIRE provided.”

Any full-time employee who is not currently in a supervisor role may apply, but applicants must be able to commit to all the dates listed in the program guide. Eligible participants should be in good standing with no disciplinary issues in the last six months. 

Members participate in activities, including workshops and discussions with campus leadership, where they cultivate a leadership mindset, develop new skills, and gain the competencies to become effective people leaders. ASPIRE uses a collaborative learning approach, placing participants in small groups that represent different departments across the Institute. 

ASPIRE is also a co-learning program for both supervisors and aspiring leaders, which means supervisors must approve their employee’s participation, but they also must be involved along the way.

Supervisors of accepted participants must attend the kick-off session in August, as well as commit to a “co-learner” role throughout the program. The employee-manager relationship is an important relationship in every person’s career, and ASPIRE provides an opportunity to strengthen that relationship through this curriculum.
