Women's Nursing Rooms

Georgia Institute of Technology recognizes the importance of breastfeeding for mothers, children, families, and the community at large. The Institute also acknowledges the need to support employees and students in order to sustain the breastfeeding relationship when they return to work or study. As such, Georgia Tech has taken measures to ensure faculty, staff, and students access to designated space conducive for nursing, breastfeeding, or expressing milk.

The selected lactation rooms are located in eight different areas on campus:

Additionally, there are numerous wellness rooms located across campus; however, many are restricted to the employees of each respective building. Contact us for further information regarding the use of the wellness rooms.

Each lactation room offers a clean, secure, and private space for mothers who need to nurse or express breast milk during their time on campus. Most rooms are equipped with a glider rocker or a chair with a foot stool, table, appropriate lighting, refrigerator, cleaning supplies, magazines, and information on breastfeeding. Additionally, hospital-grade breast pumps are provided in each room - accessories must be provided by each individual user. Each nursing room is operated by the building manager of the specific building and sponsored by Georgia Tech Human Resources, Employee Engagement.

PLEASE NOTE: Mothers are required to submit a Lactation Room Agreement Form prior to using any space. Each lactation room is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please complete the Lactation Room Agreement Here.

Upon completing the form, you will receive access codes to the rooms, as well as additional information regarding each of the spaces. Use of the lactation rooms are available during normal business operating hours.
