Required Retirement Plans

All employees are required by an Act of the General Assembly of the State of Georgia to participate in a retirement program. The retirement options you have are determined by your non-exempt status. In addition to one of the required plans, Georgia Tech offers supplemental retirement saving plans. Your retirement plan selection is irrevocable.

PLEASE NOTE: Effective March 1 through April 3, all retirement plan elections for eligible monthly (exempt) employees will be made utilizing a paper form and Interim Election Process. See the documents below for more detail.

Teacher's Retirement System (TRS)
Optional Retirement System (ORP)
Georgia Defined Contribution Plan (GDCP)
Regular faculty or staff working at least 50% or greater

Supplemental Retirement Plans

Employees have the option to enroll in a supplemental retirement savings plan, in addition to their required retirement savings plan. Two plans options are provided through AIG, Fidelity, and TIAA and are open to temporary and regular faculty and staff. You may start, stop, or modify contributions at any time. 

403(b) Tax Sheltered Annuity 
457(b) Deferred Compensation Plan
A Roth 403(b) is available for after-tax contributions Contributions to a 457(b) are pre-tax.
Employee Contribution
Employees may contribute up to $19,000 pre-tax for 2019 (additional $6,000 for age 50 and over) Employees may contribute up to $19,000 pre-tax for 2019 (additional $6,000 for age 50 and over)
Establish Your Plan
To begin contributing to a 403(b), visit ServiceNow. The retirement team will alert you when you have been given access to Retirement Manager. To begin contributing to a 457(b), visit ServiceNow. The retirement team will alert you when you have been given access to Retirement Manager.
Accessing your Supplemental Savings Plan

Retirement Manager is no longer available to make current changes to any supplemental retirement plans due to the transition to OneUSG Connect. The new OneUSG platform is Retirement@Work, which houses the ORP and voluntary 403b and 457b supplemental plans. Visit the links below to learn more:
