Beginning this April, Georgia Tech has engaged Huron Consulting to work with Georgia Tech Human Resources (GTHR) to strategically assess how the Institute can more effectively and efficiently support the changing human resource needs across campus.
“This effort will address opportunities for improvement identified through the Comprehensive Administrative Review and support Georgia Tech Human Resources in the implementation of OneUSG Connect,” said Mark Demyanek, interim senior vice president for Administration.
For the next six to nine months, the team, which will be assisted by Georgia Tech Strategic Consulting, will work with both the centralized unit – Georgia Tech Human Resources – and decentralized human resource personnel to perform a strategic assessment of the organizational structure, administrative operations, key business processes, and future state readiness. This will require engaging the campus community to understand employee and business needs.
The team will also help the deputy director for Human Resources enhance and support core human resource operations as the associate vice president for Human Resources devotes increasing time to implementing the OneUSG Human Capital Management (HCM) initiative by the end of 2019.
“The transformation of Georgia Tech’s administrative systems continues as we transition to OneUSG Connect,” said Kim D. Harrington, associate vice president and chief human resources officer at Georgia Tech. “This change will align Tech’s human resources processes with best industry practices and the University System of Georgia. We welcome the support that Huron brings to the Institute during this time.”
Georgia Tech also anticipates the consultant team collaborating with leadership in Human Resources to focus on optimizing operations that impact the entire campus community. These include the following:
- Talent recruitment strategies and processes
- Position reclassifications and reorganizations
- Human resources support model for the Institute
